Legacy of Life Hawai‘i is more than an organization—we are a community united by hope, compassion, and the belief that life is a gift to be shared.

As Hawai‘i’s only federally designated organ procurement organization, we serve all islands as a nonprofit 501(c)(3), working closely with hospitals and healthcare partners to recover organs and tissue for transplant. Every day, we witness the strength of donor families, the resilience of recipients, and the power of our local communities to turn loss into life.

Rooted in aloha and guided by integrity, we strive to honor each gift and every story behind it. Through education, outreach, and support, we work to ensure that everyone in our diverse communities understands the legacy they can leave—and the lives they can save.
Our Mission
The mission of Legacy of Life Hawai’i is to save and enhance lives by recovering organs and tissue for transplant, to encourage organ donation through community outreach and education, and to honor and support organ donors and their families.

Provide compassionate counseling to families considering donation

Guide and support hospital staff through the donation process

Assess medical suitability for organ and tissue donation

Coordinate the recovery of organs and tissue with care, dignity, and urgency
